Municipality of Utiel

Utiel is a Spanish city located in the Community of Valencia, (Spain) Utiel is located in an important nexus of communications between the interior and the Spanish coast. Utiel has an agricultural economy whose main product is wine. Utiel suffers from depopulation problems, as young people migrate to the city in search of greater opportunities. The city of Utiel has a very active civil society.

Utiel presents about twenty civil associations that collaborate closely with the City Council, collecting non-formal educational, sports, social, cultural and entrepreneurial activities. In the entrepreneurial aspect, Utiel is an example of good practices in the creation of companies in rural areas in an inclusive and eco-sustainable way.

Seeking the growth and improvement of the municipality, the City Council of Utiel has opened an Office of European Projects through which to help its civil associations, youth and public administrations towards European Policy and the exchange of experiences and knowledge with other countries.

The attractiveness of Utiel through its wine and its gastronomy is undoubtedly its greatest asset, however the City Council also has on its roadmap the improvement of the conditions of its young people, the dissemination of European values, digitization and sport, all framed in the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda in which the City Council of Utiel has been working for years.

As the Lead Beneficiary, Utiel will prepare and coordinate the online meetings, will host the rest of the partners for the first event, with the kick-off meeting and the set of activities prepared and will be in charge of the general coordination and leading of the dissemination campaign.

Újszilvás is a town with 2600 inhabitants in the central part of the country, representing a plain, sandy area. In the last two decades, the municipal management has implemented a systematic settlement development program and strives to follow European development trends and apply innovative solutions for using renewable energy sources.

Stiftung Zukunft Berlin

The Stiftung Zukunft Berlin is a place for exchange and reflection on solutions for the future: a driving force, a balancing forum and a committed source of inspiration at the same time. Engaged people can get involved here. Proposals are developed from and by civil society and then taken forward in a dialogue at eye level with those in political positions of responsibility.

Around 500 personalities from city society are involved in 30 different initiatives. They are supported organisationally in their activities by the team at the Foundation's office. The foundation brings citizens together with decision-makers from politics and offers events and formats for an exchange of opinions that promotes democracy. The Stiftung Zukunft Berlin is a non-profit foundation whose activities are based on the voluntary participation of several hundred individuals. Its starting point is Berlin.

Dimos Agion Anargiron-Kamaterou

The Municipality of Agii Anargiri - Kamatero has 62.440 inhabitants, but unofficially the population of city is over 90.000 people. It covers an area of 9,11 km2 and is located in the northwest part of Attica Region at a distance of 6 km from the Athens city center. Its location allows easy rail connection, through the Suburban Railway, to the center of Athens, the port of Piraeus and the Eleutherios Venizelos Airport. Also, the Municipality is crossed by two National transportation axes (National Road Athens - Thessaloniki and National Railway Athens - Thessaloniki) thus turning the area very important in terms of transportation and commerce.

Rhenen is a Municipality in the Province of Utrecht in The Netherlands. The total number of inhabitants is about 21.000. The history of Rhenen goes back to the 8th century. It is situated in a rural area, near the river Rhine and it is attractive for tourists, because of its rich nature.

In World War II, the city center from Rhenen was destroyed. Fortunately, the Cunera Church survived and still dominates the skyline.

Compared to the average figures, Rhenen's population is rather young. Many people find work at the nearby Agricultural University in Wageningen. Nowadays, the biggest minority in Rhenens population, has its origin in Morocco. Lately, also newcomers from Syria and Afghanistan found their way to Rhenen.

“Se Poate” Association believes that the youth can produce a change at the local and national levels. For this reason, we support them in gaining new knowledge and gaining new skills. As the organization and its members grew and developed, our strategies and goals also developed.

Supporting young people with fewer opportunities remains one of our main priorities, but we also look for ways to educate young people through involvement in volunteering projects, international youth exchanges, training sessions, extracurricular activities, information events, skills development activities, and awareness of existing opportunities. These activities and projects aim to improve soft skills, increase active citizenship and promote employability.

Sarmede Municipality is located in the nort-east part of Treviso Province, Veneto Region, Italy, between the Cansiglio mountain and the Padan plain. It is characterized by a hillside territory, partially mountainside, with the highest peak at 1123 mt (Col Oliver Peak). It counts around 3000 inhabitants, divided into the following small urban centers: Sarmede, Rugolo, Montaner, “borgo Palù”, and “borgo Val”. Sarmede is famous for hosting 3 big international events (the Street Theatre Festival, the International School of Illustration for Children and the International Exhibition of Illustration for Children) and it is considered the “Town of Tales” in Italy.

Since more than 30 years, Sarmede municipality works tightly with schools in order to promote “tales & storytelling” as a powerful educational tool, by activating the Culture & Education Office and the Social Services Office, in cooperation with the Zavrel Foundation and the Pro Loco of Sarmede. Sarmede Municipality is also member of the ELISAN network.
